Why are we asking for funding?

We are a multigenerational family currently living in a "blue" city with the accompanying current and potentially future problems. The city is well known locally for problems with crime. People from the surrounding suburbs even make jokes about it. I know this is my responsibility not yours, but the stakes are high and we are running out of time. No one knows the hour, but most people you talk to will probably agree time is short. I'll put my pride on a shelf and pray for a miracle. I'll keep working on it until the last minute and be extremely grateful for any help anyone is willing/able to provide. Thank you.
